The Office of Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Leicestershire are looking for a new Head of Commissioning and Strategy to join our Senior Management Team, on a full-time, permanent basis.

At the OPCC, we aim to improve accountability, transparency and visibility over the finances and governance of the Police. We ensure the policing needs of our communities are met, enhancing public confidence in the system. Communities are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to reducing the impact of crime with a key focus on prevention.

As the Head of Commissioning and Strategy, you will take the lead in preparing, developing and implementing the delivery of the commissioning function which supports the achievement of the strategic priorities set out in the Police and Crime Plan, as well as further sub-strategies for specific issues.

Using your experience of working at a senior level, managing commissioning budgets and contracts within a partnership and political environment, you'll understand strategic drivers of change and be able to maximise opportunities and drive successful outcomes by enhancing our resources and taking account of budget constraints.

Using your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you'll build collaborative strategic partnerships with both internal and external partners and stakeholders at a local, regional and national level, delivering existing and developing new and innovative solutions in line with the priorities set out with the Police and Crime Plan.

You must be flexible and hold a full, UK driving licence due to the requirement to travel and work at alternative locations within the Force area, as needed.

Belton in Rutland PC - Clerk vacancy (Part time)

A vacancy has arisen within Belton in Rutland Parish Council for a part-time Parish Clerk to eventually succeed the current clerk.

Role Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

*Arranging and attending planned Parish Council meetings as well as on occasions arranging and attending extraordinary general meetings as required. These meetings to be held during the evening.

*Preparing and distributing agendas and associated paperwork in readiness for these meetings.

*Recording minutes of these meetings and subsequently recording them onto the Parish Council website.

*Liaising with Rutland County Council on the Parish Councils behalf.

*Completing financial records and accounts for the Parish Council including the annual audit documents.

*Completing financial and clerical records for the village cemetery located on College Farm Road and for producing an update report for each annual general meeting.

*Any other task commensurate with the role of Parish Clerk.


This is a part time role and the hours worked per week are not set but are flexible depending upon the amount of work to be completed at any time. Those hours worked will be paid on a scale between £10.16 to £11.22 per hour depending on the successful candidate's experience.

In addition, reimbursement will be made for the cost of an internet connection and for telephone calls made on behalf of the Parish Council.

Essential Criteria.

Candidates should:

*Have computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word 10 and Excel. (A lap top computer and printer are provided.)

*Be able to demonstrate experience of working in a clerical environment including the keeping of financial records.

*Demonstrate good communication skills.

*Have the ability to work from home as the Parish Council does not have office facilities.

Desirable Criteria

Candidates to demonstrate:

*Experience of attending formal meetings.

*Knowledge of the role of Parish Councils within the local authority framework.

*Experience of minute taking and the formulation and implementation of Council policy.

Stoughton PC - Clerk vacancy (Part time)

Due to the change in circumstances of the postholder, applications are invited for the post of Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to Stoughton Parish Council.

The Clerk will work from home on a self-scheduling basis but needs to work some set hours to cover meetings which are held in the evenings about six times a year. The total hours will average out at four hours per week.
