On 16 December the secretary of state for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Michael Gove MP, published the Provisional Local Government Finance Settlement 2022/23 which includes the welcome confirmation of no referendum principles for local councils in 2022/23.

Parishes are invited to have their say on the Leicestershire County Council's proposed strategic plan 2022-2026, which sets out LCC's ambitions and priorities for the years ahead. It outlines what they want to achieve and how they intend to do it.

Lousy public transport, loneliness and lack of affordable housing are pushing young people out of the countryside, a CPRE survey has revealed.
