Mountsorrel Memorial Centre (MMC) is a vital, local arts, events and community space: a new and unique space for original and popular arts and live artists from across the UK, and a flagship venue for Mountsorrel. Housed in a brand new purpose built building, Mountsorrel Parish Council has introduced an arts, community and live music programme following over £3m of capital investment.
MMC was conceived as a community project, designed to serve the people from the parish of Mountsorrel and the wider area. At the centre of this project is the large auditorium seating more than 200 people in air conditioned comfort, with retractable seating this space is versatile and provides for a range of year round events. In addition there are community facilities, bars, a cafe, two shops, meeting rooms and workspaces.
Mountsorrel Parish Council now need a driven, enthusiastic, and experienced General Manager to ensure MMC is not only a valuable community asset, but also one that is successful commercially and utilises the centre's space to its full potential on a year round basis. You will manage a small staff team, and be a personal licence holder for the venue.
You will have an excellent track record of running a similar venue, developing appropriate corporate partnerships, and experience of managing staff, you will also be able to contribute to the wider agenda of the parish council, as a senior member of the council staff team. Ideally you will have an understanding or experience of working within a not for profit/community/local authority environment, and although this is not essential the ability to be able to do so is essential.
