High Court Judgement on remote meetings
Following yesterday's announcement by the High Court on the remote meetings legislation ALL Council's must return to physical meetings from the 7th May 2021.
This is a disappointing outcome for the sector and presents further challenges. ALL Council meetings must be open to the public, this presents issues regarding health risks in the current climate but restrictions on the number of attendees CANNOT be put in place. Venues must be Risk Assessed and COVID safe - further guidance on this can be found on the Government website.
We are working hard to provide further updates on this so keep an eye on the news pages. We are meeting with NALC and County Officers at 10.30am this morning to discuss the situation. I will update following that meeting.
