LRALC secures NALC support to lobby for changes for local councils
LRALC is not just an advice and training body, we also represent our members and campaign on their behalf.

Government confirms the Section 137 expenditure limit for 2023/24
The Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has notified the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) that the appropriate sum for section 137(4)(a) of the Local Government Act 1972 (the 1972 Act) for parish and town councils in England for 2023/24 is £9.93.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Local Government Finance - No referendums ("capping") for Parish and Town Council council tax increases CONFIRMED

Conflicting advice from NALC & Richard Harwood KC on meeting dates
At a meeting this morning NALC Legal outlined the reasons and alleged errors that lead them to strongly disagree with the view issues by Richard Harwood KC.
LRALC has strongly requested that a statement is issued from NALC on this to address the confusion.
In essence, NALC Legal's view on meetings still stands.
