Parish council wins fight over 'local identified need' for housing scheme
In a case likely to be of national interest to local councils, a Norfolk parish council has won a High Court victory against a secretary of state approval for a 15-home scheme which centred on the 'local identified need' for the development.

Somerby Affordable Housing Scheme
On 30 May 2013 the opening ceremony for the affordable housing scheme at Somerby took place. New grants announced for Neighbourhood Plans
From 1st May Locality is offering grants of up to £7,000 to neighbourhood planning groups, including town and parish councils.
Previously grants were directed through planning authorities. Now, local councils developing Neighbourhood Plans can apply for grants as well as direct support, and receive both at the same time.
