Training for grounds staff to work on the highway

Sector Scheme 12D "Moving Works Operative" qualification

This course is designed to enable councils to equip grounds staff with the training and certification they need to undertake works on the road network under a Service Level Agreement with Leicestershire County Council. Typical works would include grass cutting and litter picking.

Places available: 12 delegates

Cost per delegate: £195 (member rate) including buffet lunch

This course is suitable for parish or town council grounds staff who are working towards becoming a Registered Moving Works Operative (MWO) as described in the Sector Scheme Document 12D

This will be delivered as a 1 day event for a maximum of 12 delegates comprising:

  • TTMBC (Temporary Traffic Management Basic Course;) and
  • 12D T1 Training Course which will lead to the issue of a Traffic Management CSCS card with the qualification valid for 5 years.

Full details of course outcomes for each section of the course can be found on the attached course portfolio documents. Please note that following completion of the 12D T1 training course, delegates can obtain Moving Works Operative status (TM card) by completing an end of course test paper.

Please note: candidates will need to bring with them 2 x passport photos for their TM Cards

Councils should note that this course does not provide training for managers and/ or supervisors of grounds staff. Any councils with questions about the course content or format should contact the office for further information.

Cancellation requirements

As this course is being delivered by an external provider we are required to confirm final delegate places three weeks in advance of the course taking place. As such, should circumstances mean that you have to cancel your place after 11am on Monday 4th March 2019 you will still be charged in full for your place. As such, councils may wish to consider identifying a substitute, should the named delegate be unable to attend.
