Supporting Local Councils in Leicestershire & Rutland

Virtual Climate Emergency Action Day for Local Councils (BOOKINGS ARE NOW CLOSED)

LRALC are excited to announce that we have successfully secured funds from the LCC SHIRE Environment grant to offer Local Councils an opportunity to take part in a 'Virtual Climate Emergency Action Day' specifically for Leicestershire Local Councils, organised and run by the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE). The Climate Emergency has been a requested topic of conversation at Clerks Operational Meetings, and has also been a topic raised by Parishes in the recent round of biodiversity training. We feel this training session will be a great opportunity to identify activities within Parishes to address the Climate Emergency, and also look at how we can work together in partnership to make a difference.

The agenda for the training can be accessed via the link above, along with a leaflet providing the background and the scope of the day. We have also included some feedback from previous attendees. We are working closely with the CSE and the Environment Team at LCC to shape the day. There will be input from District & Borough Councils, LCC and local Leicestershire environmental charities.

The funding awarded means we are able to offer this training at a heavily reduced fee. If we are able to fill all 50 spaces, the cost per delegate will be £15.39. For fewer delegates, costs will be as follows.

£ per delegate

We are really keen to fill all 50 places to ensure the funding secured benefits as many Councils as possible, so would strongly encourage as many of you as possible to attend.
