Course tutor: Mark Tomkins, Creative Director, Aubergine
Aubergine are an award winning firm of website designers, search engine optimisers & graphic designers, based in Leighton Buzzard and working with clients across the UK. Aubergine recently ran a briefing session for NALC and County Association staff on the forthcoming Website Accessibility Regulations, which apply to all local councils regardless of size. LRALC have now arranged for this course to be run for member councils in Leicestershire and Rutland.
Course outline:
In this hour long session Aubergine will provide an update on meeting the WCAG 2.1AA accessibility guidelines compliance for all council (and public body) websites. With just a couple of weeks to go until the compliance deadline, they will revisit what's needed for those just starting, tackle the key areas to look at and consider whether just starting or nearing completion, and how to plan for approach and process needed moving forward to stay compliant.
The course presumes a basic awareness of the new Website Accessibility Regulations, if you have missed the information previously sent out by LRALC then please access the NALC briefing here: https://www.nalc.gov.uk/news/entry/1495-nalc-launches-new-publication-on-website-accessibility
