Fleckney PC - Grounds Maintenance Operative vacancy

We are currently looking to employ a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team at Fleckney Parish Council!

The grounds maintenance operative assists with a wide range of tasks around the Parish Council sites at Leicester Road Recreation Ground, the woodland spinney, Lodge Road and around the village. Key tasks include strimming, mowing and cutting of grass, hedges and trees across the sites, painting and upkeep of play equipment and maintenance of the artificial football pitch surface. Other seasonal jobs include clearing leaves and ensuring pavements are safe during cold weather.

The grounds maintenance operative also has an important role in the running of Fleckney Sports Centre. This will include health and safety checks such as emergency lighting, shower disinfecting and general repair jobs, for example basic plumbing and electrical tasks. Other tasks may include painting and outdoor work such as clearing guttering.

The vacancy will be based on 10 hours per week.

Kegworth PC - Assistant Clerk vacancy

Post Title: Assistant Clerk to Kegworth Parish Council ('the Council')

Location: The role is based at the Kegworth Parish Council Office, 1 London Road, Kegworth, DE74 2EU

Reporting to: The Clerk to Kegworth Parish Council

Grade: NJC Spinal Column Points 18–23 (starting at Point 18) £15.84 - £17.29 per hour

Hours of Work: 12.5 Hours per Week Pattern of Work: 2.5 Hours Per Day, Worked Monday to Friday, 9:30 – 12:00 (See also Special Terms of Employment below)

Job Purpose: The Assistant Clerk will support the Clerk in delivering the proper administration of the Council and will cover for the Clerk to the Council in their absence to ensure the smooth running of the Parish Council. A general knowledge of local Government procedures, finance, and administration is desired, together with good communication, IT skills, and the experience and confidence to deputise. Training will be offered to the person in the role to become qualified in local council administration. Progression into the role of Clerk in the future will be an option for the right candidate.

South Croxton PC - Clerk vacancy

A vacancy has arisen for the position of Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to support the work of the Parish Council.

The hours of work are 5 per week and payment will be in accordance with National Joint Council for the Local Government Services (NJC) rates dependent on experience in the range of SCP 9 – 14 which is £13.69 to £14.84 per hour.

Full employment related conditions, including Local Government pension rights, sickness benefits, paid holidays, and where appropriate maternity benefits are included in the contract.

The work is carried out from your home plus attendance at monthly meetings in the South Croxton Village Hall.

We are looking for a candidate with good people skills, who is well organised, and has experience using a computer for email communication, minutes, and financial reports.

Training is available from Leicestershire and Rutland Association of Local Councils (LRALC) in Anstey.
