LRALC 2023 AGM

Date: Wednesday 15th November 2023, 4.00pm - 7.00pm

Cost: £10 per delegate to cover buffet and refreshment costs.

The 2023 LRALC AGM will once again be held at the Mountsorrel Memorial Centre (MMC - Mountsorrel Memorial Centre). This first-class facility showcases what parish councils can achieve when it comes to providing modern and welcoming community, conference, and entertainment spaces at a local level, and all stall holders will benefit from the environment that the MMC provides for delegates and commercial partners alike.

We are delighted to be bringing councillors and officers together for this face-face event, and as in previous years, we would encourage all member councils to send not only their 1 voting delegate (for the business of the AGM itself), but also other councillors and officers who would benefit from attending the event, as in addition to the AGM there will be presentations, stalls from commercial partners who service the parish sector, and other items of interest.

Timings are 4.00pm - 7.00pm. We are aware that some councils may have meetings on the evening of the 15th, and we will ensure that the actual business of the AGM itself is completed earlier in the evening to allow delegates to return in time for their council meetings if this is the case.

Registration will be open from 4.00pm with formal proceedings starting at 4.45pm. Ample free parking is available immediately outside the Memorial Centre and nearby. We will send joining instructions prior to the event.

A light buffet, with vegan and gluten free options, will be available from 4.00pm. You'll be asked to let us know about dietary requirements when you book. Hot and cold drinks will be available throughout the evening. Buffet and refreshments are included in the £10 delegate fee.

Motions for consideration at the AGM should be sent in writing to our office by Friday 3rd November.

Early arrivals will be able to park in the Memorial Centre car park (LE12 7DB), which has 60 spaces. Anyone unable to park at the MMC can use the overflow car park located a 2 minute walk away on Little Lane. See the map below displaying the whereabouts of the Little Lane car park.

Additional parking can be found at the Soar Valley Leisure Centre car park (LE12 7FG) or on street parking. There is a pedestrian cut through from the leisure centre car park to the Memorial Centre. It is also worth mentioning that the Leisure Centre lock their car park barrier upon closure each evening. The MMC doesn't have a key to this barrier, so in the event that any cars may remain in the Leisure Centre car park following closure, it would not be possible to unlock the barrier to allow exit.
